Once upon a time, I decided to build a suit of armor, and my life has never been the same.
I was a sophomore in high school when I pitched the idea to my welding instructor. He loved it, and the project became the defining feature of my high school experience. As it happens there is more to making armor than welding, and pretty soon I had acquired a panoply of skills and interests, all connected by one newfound truth: what we wear, costumes if you will, are fascinating.
I’ve been lucky enough to turn that passion into a career. Now you can find me working in theaters and costume shops across the country, bringing my love of all things technical and weird about clothing with me. And armor, because I just can’t seem to stop loving it.
